What We Do
Safe Mothers, Safe Babies (SAFE) believes that no woman should die while bringing life into the world, and that no child should die when his/her life is just beginning. We also believe in the capacity and ingenuity of the rural poor. Together, we partner to improve the "Three Delays" that collectively lead to maternal and child death. We use our innovative, community-based model to ensure that mothers and children in the first 1,000 days of life lead healthy, empowered lives.
Proof It Works
SAFE's model works! And we know that because we spend a lot of time measuring our impact and evaluating our work. During our assessment of one intervention region in 2018, we saw child mortality in the first thousand days drop by 29.2% and skilled attendance at birth increase by 15.9%. We are excited to know that we make a difference, and even more thrilled to continue making a difference with your support!
